This image is taking a bunch of the different tutorials and posts on this website and mixing them together. Notice the lawn mower stripes in the grass haha. It’s all about the details.

    very creative, the overlay of the interior floor plan on has a practicality to it. there's a duality to this; its highly detailed but at the same time sketchy

    I stumbled onto your site after viewing your youtube tutorial. Can I just say you are insanely talented in what you do. I am a stylist with an interest in art, architecture, graphic, interior and fashion design, well actually anything to do with design. And I have found your work and your approach quite inspirational.     Hi Alex again a beautiful presentation. I just wonder why you add the lines on the plan? is this just for creating a sketchy style, and is this just fantasy? or have they an other reason? I guess that the lines showing on the building is for showing the inside of the building? I recognize you're basketball field of one you past tutorials ;-)… just two more questions: 1/ why did you add just a half lawn? I'm not sure what you mean adding green on the stairs… is this because the stairs shade off into a slip? The most fantastic thing in this drawing is the shadow this is so remarkable, you can feel the depth of the field! NICE

    To broadly answer your questions, I used artistic licenses. More specifically, I added elements such as the guidelines to reveal some of the "process" in the design. The guidelines represent some of the relationships between my design and the surrounding context.
    I only showed the grass around my design for two reasons. I knew this image was going on my site, so I thought it would be interesting that as the user scrolled down the page, more information and color would be revealed in the illustration. Also, I also wanted to make my design hierarchically the strongest area of the image.
    The stairs I think you are referring to are actually amphitheater seating. Here my design uses both hard surface seating and grass seating.

    Alex, I'm a huge fan. Your tutorials have been incredibly helpful/inspirational. Thank you so much! I'm particularly captivated by this image. It's difficult to find expressive drawings of site plans out there. They tend to be either very generic or very cartoonish. If it's not too much trouble, would you be willing to list the different techniques that you applied to this drawing? In terms of the details, how did you create the trees and the lawn mover stripes? Any information you would be willing to share would help me tons. Many thanks in advance for your help.
