Volume 05 represents nearly three years of experimentation and exploration into what it means to visualize architecture. Four architectural projects are used as a base through which a series of illustrations are organized to tell the story of each design. Rich colors, diverse textures, strong compositional layouts, and contemporary typefaces are all brought together to form a unique modern architectural portfolio.
With the new portfolio Volume 05, Some of the images you will recognize from blog posts over the past view years. Every image has been optimized to work with the book formating so that colors read how they should and important content doesn’t get cropped out or lost in the fold of spread.
Some of the content recieved a major makeover. As the portfolio came together, many of the images needed to be reworked. This meant reorganizing diagrams, switching up the coloring, or redesigning the graphics all together.
Tons of new content not shown on the blog was created just for this portfolio. Some of the new images were created to fill in the narrative gaps while others were interesting ideas that came to me as the book was coming together. It was a lot of work, but in the end, worth it.
Every square inch of this book has been designed. I even spent the first several pages describing what this portfolio was about and what was going through my head when I worked on it. Its not the normal stuff I typically discuss on my blog, but hopefully something readers will find helpfull.
